Gas Pipeline Information Disclosure and Arbitration Framework - Draft initial National Gas Rules
The Gas Market Reform Group (GMRG) undertook a consultation process on the draft initial National Gas Rules (NGR) implementing the final design of the information disclosure and arbitration framework, which was agreed by COAG Energy Council’s Standing Committee of Officials (SCO) on 2 June 2017.
Following receipt of stakeholder feedback, the GMRG developed the final initial rules, which will be provided to the Energy Council for its consideration and approval. Council consideration is expected to take place out-of-session in late July.
The initial rules will be made by the South Australian Minister for Mineral Resources and Energy, in accordance with section 294F of the Amendment Bill. Once the initial rules are made, future amendments will proceed under the regular Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) rule making framework. Further information on the forward process is provided in the Explanatory Note.
